At this IC Café, we’ll be focusing on key recommendations for the new UK government to sustain and enhance the international student experience. These include visa policies and processes, post-study work opportunities and student support services. We’ll explore the need for a cohesive strategy that aligns with global competition for talent, ensuring that the UK remains a desirable destination for international students.

Our guest speakers

Anne Marie Graham, Chief Executive, UKCISA.

Anne Marie joined UKCISA in 2019 from the Association of Commonwealth Universities, where she was Director of Chevening. Prior to that, Anne Marie led on a range of educational and international mobility projects. At Universities UK International, she developed the first government-funded UK Strategy for Outward Mobility and established the ‘Go International’ programme.

Anne Marie is a linguist, with a degree in modern languages from Anglia Ruskin University and postgraduate translation from University of Westminster. Before moving into the education sector, she spent several years in the language services industry. She continues to support professional standards in the language professions as a member of the Qualifications and Standards Committee of the National Register of Public Service Interpreters.

Ross Porter, Associate Director Visa Compliance & Financial Aid, London Business School and Vice-chair of Board of Trustees of UKCISA

Ross is the Associate Director for Visa Compliance and Financial Aid at London Business School. He is also the Vice Chair of the UKCISA Board of Trustees and an independent consultant.
With almost 15 years experience in student visa compliance and advice, he has witnessed various policy changes over this time, and experienced the impact of these on the international student journey and attractiveness of the UK as a world leading HE destination.
