Maximising the Impact of Internationalisation at Home
This IC Café focuses on the vital role of Internationalisation at Home in enhancing the student experience in higher education. We’ll share key themes from the upcoming Innovations in Internationalisation at Home conference, including effective frameworks for measuring and demonstrating impact.
We’ll explore the role of academic disciplines in shaping how internationalisation is understood and applied. We’ll discuss how approaches must be tailored to different contexts and how understanding what drives academics in various fields is essential to ensuring internationalisation efforts are meaningful and effective.
We’ll also unveil an exciting new collaborative initiative to help universities showcase and strengthen their commitment to embedding international perspectives within curricula, providing accessible global opportunities and enriching the student experience.

Anthony Manning, Dean for Global and Lifelong Learning, University of Kent and an IC Global Fellow
Dr Anthony Manning is Dean for Global and Lifelong Learning at the University of Kent, UK. Through his role at Kent, Anthony is responsible for the development, implementation and review of International and Lifelong Learning activity which includes international programmes, international pathways to higher education, online learning and higher and degree apprenticeships. Anthony is a Principal Fellow of AdvanceHE and a National Teaching Fellow. He has published widely in fields linked to international education, assessment and internationalisation at Home and has worked as an external examiner for more than 10 Universities in the UK and overseas. Anthony has lived as and worked in five countries and has led educational development activities in more than 50 nations around the world. Anthony is also the founder of various networks and fora including Innovations in Internationalisation at Home. As well as being an IC Global Fellow Anthony is a trustee for the British Accreditation Council (BAC) and is also the current Chair of BAC’s Accreditation Committee.
Eveke de Louw, Research & Academic Development in Internationalisation at Home, The Hague University of Applied Sciences
Eveke de Louw is an experienced internationalization scholar-practitioner and an expert in curriculum internationalization, with more than 20 years of experience. In her professional career at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands), Eveke has performed in key coordinating roles ranging from International Student Co-coordinator, Team Leader, and Senior International Officer. She has also chaired various educational committees and played a leading role in curriculum design projects. She is currently a researcher and academic developer on internationalization of the home curriculum at the Centre of Expertise Global & Inclusive Learning of The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Her research focuses on discipline-specific implementation of internationalisation at home and the role of educational developers in curriculum internationalisation.
