The IC Global Partnership was born out of Sirin Myles and Charlene Allen’s passion and commitment towards internationalisation and global engagement in higher education. Sirin and Charlene were long-term friends and colleagues that had enjoyed successful careers in internationalisation at a number of UK universities. They decided to form The IC Global Partnership in 2020 to create a supportive and enriching professional community that would contribute towards the advancement of internationalisation professionals and the sector as a whole.

Sirin and Charlene were both Co-Directors of The IC Global until Charlene’s passing in May 2024 after a prolonged illness of breast cancer. Charlene’s passion, positivity, resilience and determination continues to inspire everyone in The IC Global team. Charlene touched many hearts within The IC Global community and the global internationalisation sector, and she is often remembered for her smile, professionalism and generosity.

Charlene’s legacy lives on through the work of The IC Global Partnership and the support and engagement of The IC Global Community and the wider international education sector. If you would like to share your messages, feel free to contribute to is Charlene’s tribute page that has been set up in her memory.

Sirin now leads all aspects of The IC Global Partnership.

Timeline & Milestones

The IC Global Partnership was founded in early 2020, full of ideas and hopes for what it would achieve in the future. It was just before the Covid lockdown, which stopped international travel but encouraged us all to stay united as a global community.
